The Warriors Way - a poem for today...
a warrior came
to the land today
standing proud
and tall
confident
the stories they tell
are of a hero
facing many dangers
and enemies
never running away
but fighting with skill and cunning
sometimes falling
but finding balance
and footing once again
the warrior left today
gone is the teacher
only a memory of lessons passed on
was it enough
will I survive the battle
will I be ready
there is no way of knowing
until that crucial moment
I can only wait
and see
the warrior fought today
the fear shook every limb
the doubt filled every crevice
the fighting lasted many moons
the enemy was very cunning
many weapons were used
the most skillful of tactics were employed
and the warrior won
and a legend was born
the child came today
and asked the warrior to stay
with gentle grace
the warrior lifted her shield
showing the underside to the child
a mirror was there
and as the child looked
she saw her own reflection
and she knew
that the warrior came today
and forever now
would the warrior stay.
What will it take
To make you fight
To make you believe
To gather your spirit
And hold on to the truth
To protect yourself
Your young
And all life that is helpless
What will it take
To light the fire
Of compassion
And love
Within your own spirit
And make you stand
On your own two feet
Behind your own sword
What will it take
To activate your instinct
For survival
And protection
For your self
And all those you hold dear
What will it take
Before it’s to late
To make you reach inside
And pull forth
Your truth
Your power
Your duty
What will it take
For you to say yes
To live with courage
And integrity
And beauty
What will it take
For you to say no
As they take away your family
And all that you believe in
What will it take
For you to define
Your bottom line
What will it take
For freedom to be yours
What will it take

Beyond 9/11 Truth - What happens next?
This article is meant for those who have already awakened to the idea that the events of 9/11 were not as they seemed and that the US government was involved. The question I want to pose is not how it was accomplished and who was really responsible, but rather now what is the next step for those who have woken up to this truth?
What do we do now that we know 9/11 was an inside job?
The main area of focus so far has been on trying to get those who were involved to admit responsibility and to convince those who don't believe to change their minds. But the more important question is - why do we believe we need to do these two things?
What is the outcome we seek by having those responsible admit guilt? What is the purpose of having those who deny 9/11 truth change their minds?
If you were married and your spouse hired some one to kill you, would you need them to admit guilt? Would you need others to believe your spouse hates you that much? Or, would you leave as fast and get as far away as you could?
How much time, money, and energy do you want to invest in having your spouse admit they wanted you dead? How much time, money, and energy do you want to invest in convincing your friends, family, and neighbors you are right and your spouse is wrong?
Is not the more important question, "What are you going to do now that you know you have been betrayed by the one you put your faith and trust in?" Will you stay with your spouse and continue to confront them or will you leave to save your own life? Will you continue to tell your friends and family how evil your spouse is or will you walk away and find a life where you are safe and loved?
The events on 9/11 have shown us that we cannot trust our government. They show that those who have been placed in power do not care about our lives or well being. They demonstrate that their goals in this life are of more importance than our lives.
As a nation we will not collectively come to this realization. Rather, it must be acknowledged by each of us in our own time. It is not up to one to determine when that time is for anyone but our selves. Am I saying than we are to do nothing? No. What I am saying is it's time to let go of 9/11/2001 and come back to 2011. The past is over and no amount of attention to it will change what happened.
However, the future is determined by the present moment and what we pay attention to today determines what our future will be tomorrow. Focusing on a past we can't change or control only keeps us angry and frustrated. Focusing on a future we can create as we want it allows us to find our power again.
Betrayal is a hard lesson to learn. But, it is a lesson we all will experience in many forms and in many situations. The lesson in betrayal is that we have given our power to someone or something outside our selves.
Here is the hard lesson to 9/11 - no one owes us anything. The people behind 9/11 don't owe us the truth. The people who deny the events of 9/11 don't owe us their awakening. The only person who owes anyone anything, is our self. When we truly get no one owes us anything, we are truly free.
Freedom is a decision and a choice that every human must make for themselves. 9/11 may be painful to face, but it is a betrayal once acknowledged that allows for greater freedom for each of us. The illusion that someone outside of us will take care of us is gone. Okay we must say to our selves, now what is next?
When a marriage ends we each have many choices. We can hold on to what was and be miserable or we can let go and create a relationship and a life we do want and love. Life does not owe us a perfect and effortless existence. A marriage does not owe us happily ever after. Governments do not owe us their loyalty and self-sacrificing service.
The greatest lesson that lies beyond 9/11 is one in which true freedom is found.
We each must decide why we came to live on this earth at this place and time. But it is my belief that we each chose to come here to find the true meaning of freedom again. It is an idea that has been lost as we've become complacent, comfortable, and lazy. We have been trained to look outside our self to find the answers and forgotten how to look within to create solutions.
When the small percentage of people who truly understand the depths of the betrayals around us begin to create lives that are powerful, meaningful, fulfilling, and purposeful, the many will want to wake up to this truth. We lead by our example, not by words and images.
Gandhi said to be the change, but he also said his life was his message. How is your life a witness to true freedom? Are you angry, frustrated, depressed, despondent, fearful, sad, or any other type of negative feeling? What is the attraction to want to follow your lead? What good is a truth that leaves you feeling disempowered, hopeless, and helpless?
It is easy to point fingers and blame. It is easy to name the problem. Great courage only comes when you begin to live the solution. It is my belief that there are many who came to this world and this time to be the leaders of change. Your voices will be heard as you speak of what is good and successful and empowering. These are the messages that will be heard by the many who are afraid to listen right now.
Peace, joy, empowerment, and success is something everyone wants but few know how to find. They will never be found when another admits guilt or a stranger believes your words. They are felt as you find your own truth, strength, and power within and then share that feeling in this world around you. Beyond 9/11 is where your true power and freedom lie.
How you invest your time, money, and energy is the way you create the life you will experience and the world you will live in. Do you want to invest in the past or the future? Freedom means we each get to choose what that will look life for us. Freedom means we don't get to impose our will on another. Freedom means just that, freedom for you and freedom for me to do with or not as we each choose to believe, to deny, or to perpetrate.
We have been conditioned to believe that another can impose their will on our freedom. While this may be true at the physical level, it can never be true for our mind, our emotions, or our spirit. Only you can decide which is more important to you - fear for your body or love for your mind, heart, and spirit.
Janis Joplin said "freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose - but you got nothing if you ain't free." Freedom is a decision and a choice we each must make. 9/11 will either bring you one step closer to your freedom or keep you in prison one day longer - but we are all free to choose and when we choose freedom what else do we fear losing?
